Tornyol
Tornyol builds 40-gram autonomous micro-drones that detect and eliminate mosquitoes without chemicals, traps, or human intervention. The drones use ultrasonic sonar and smartphone-grade microphones to identify female mosquitoes by their wing-beat frequency, then autonomously intercept and destroy them mid-air. Each unit pairs with a base station and autonomously patrols a designated outdoor area 24/7. Co-founder Alex Toussaint developed one of the first air-gapped ultrasonic phased array sonars and worked on aerial guidance and navigation at MBDA Systems (French missile systems).
