Skarv Technologies
Founded by four NTNU/Applied Underwater Robotics Laboratory PhDs, Skarv designs autonomous underwater vehicles and intelligent control software for harsh Arctic marine environments (under-ice navigation, deep-sea data collection). Its flagship CORAX AUV is a fully actuated, two-person-portable vehicle for large-scale optical seabed surveys to 600 m, with 24-hour endurance, up to 30 km operating radius via satellite link, onboard real-time object recognition and adaptive mission planning that re-plans search patterns from seabed discoveries. In September 2025 Ava Ocean acquired a long-endurance CORAX system adapted for Barents Sea seabed mapping to support precision scallop harvesting. NATO DIANA cohort-1 (Sensing & Surveillance).
