Qafka Robotics
Qafka Robotics, a TU Delft Robotics Minor spin-out now part of Dubbeldam Holding, is developing TwistBot, a robot that automates the attachment and detachment of container twistlocks in ports - work currently done manually by two-person teams under suspended loads. A fleet of TwistBots uses perception (the team includes a dedicated machine-learning engineer) to identify and locate twistlocks, position under each corner of a container and manipulate the locks. The company was selected from over 500 applicants as one of seven participants in NEOM's Oxagon x McLaren Accelerator. Still pre-deployment: port stakeholders have shown interest in the prototype but no commercial installations are announced.
