BlackSea Technologies
Builds small uncrewed surface vessels for the US Navy, led by the 16-ft Global Autonomous Reconnaissance Craft (GARC), produced at a rate of roughly one boat per day at the former Bethlehem-Fairfield Shipyard in Baltimore with 350+ units delivered to the fleet. GARC is autonomy-stack agnostic, with multiple third-party autonomy stacks integrated. Formed in 2022 by Razor's Edge Ventures by combining Maritime Applied Physics Corp., Hard Yards, Blue Tide Marine and Lakenheath into a single company led by CEO Chris Devine; unveiled the Chaser and Comet USVs at Sea-Air-Space 2026. Note: core acquired unit MAPC dates to 1986, but BlackSea is a distinct 2022-formed company with a new product line.
